Stair-MASTER

One of my favorite calorie burning machines is the stair climber.  It not only burns those calories but it’s also great for sculpting your legs and butt.  In the past I would stay far away from these machines as I was more interested in throwing around free weights and

adding bulk to my frame but as I get older I’m more interested in gettingsculpted and burning off all those extra fat calories so I have made the stair climber and the treadmill a regular stop during my gym visits. If you want to get the best results from these machines you need to use them correctly.  Stay centered over your legs.  Don’t slouch as this will strain your lower back and hips.  Concentrate on keeping good posture and form and you will get the most out of the machine.  Also, try switching up your footwork as you are climbing.  Stepping with only the ball of your foot will target your calves as well as working your glutes and thighs.  Switch your step up by pressing your entire foot down and concentrating on your heel placement and you will target your glutes and hamstrings more than your calves.

  Remember, it is ALWAYS important to concentrate on your form whenever working out with free weights or your favorite machine.  Not only will it help get the results intended but you are less likely to injure yourself.
